This one-hour lesson is designed to help drivers prepare for the South Australian Practical Driving Assessment (PDA) — a fitness-to-drive evaluation required for older drivers or those referred through a medical assessment process.
During the session, your instructor will guide you through the key areas assessed in the PDA, including vehicle control, smooth braking and steering, correct use of indicators, safe observation and mirror checks, appropriate speed management, lane positioning, and compliance with road rules at intersections, roundabouts, and traffic signals.
The lesson takes place on public roads in a relaxed, supportive environment, giving you the opportunity to build confidence, identify any areas for improvement, and become familiar with what to expect on assessment day. Feedback is provided throughout to help you drive safely and competently.
This lesson is suitable for drivers aged 75 and over, those returning to driving after a medical condition, or anyone referred for a PDA by their doctor or Service SA.
